

John is survived by his loving wife, Blanca Moreira Mahoney of Guatemala, and his three children, Adam Mahoney and his wife, Miranda of Hanson, Eric Mahoney and his wife, Colleen of Abington and Kate Stevens and her husband, Josh of San Antonio, TX. He was also the loving grandfather of Alivia, Reese, Tatum, Taylor, Scarlett and Connor. He cherished the time he got to spend with his grandchildren whether he was vacationing with them orhome for a visit.
John was born on June 14, 1956 to Dorothy Mahoney and the late Edward Mahoney, both of Rockland. He is also survived by his nine brothers and their families. He was raised and educated in Rockland and chose to raise his three children there. John lived for spending time with his children, watching all three of them play sports growing up. He treasured the family vacations they took to Naples, Florida where they would spend time with their lovinggrandparents.
John worked a successful career in Local 259 as part of the Teamsters Union and served as a trustee for many years. Upon retirement, he decided to relocate to Guatemala where he then met and married his devoted wife, Blanca, who loved and cared for him for over fifteen years.
Family and friends will honor and remember John’s life by gathering for a Funeral Mass on Saturday, April 6th, 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Angels Parish-Saint Mary of the Sacred Heart Church, Hanover, MA (392 Hanover Street, Route 139).
