Cherished Grammie to Anthony, Gina, Cameron, Emma and Molly. Dear sister to Patrick Messore, Christine Malcott, and Carla Smith. Pre-deceased by Paul Messore. Stepmother to James R. Davis, III and wife Lisa, Lisa M. Owens and husband, Ted and their children Nicki, Amy, and Ronnie-Scott.
Judy’s biggest joy came from giving to others. She had a career in hairdressing that kept her family looking great for many years. Later in her career, she transitioned to administrative work and retired from the Hanover Department of Public Works, a job she adored with co-workers who treated her like gold. She was first and foremost a hostess to all. Every holiday was celebrated to the fullest and she would never sit down, always bringing more trays, more food, more gifts. She had special keepsakes that would come to the table every year, all passed down to future hosts and she loved to see them displayed in our homes. When she wasn’t the host, she brought the party with her, a trunk filled with celebration that would be unloaded by all of us with groans of, you did too much! She never had a bad word to say about anyone, and we could do no wrong in her eyes. Summer was her season! She was the biggest Red Sox fan and had a screenhouse dedicated to the memorabilia given to her over the years. Her birthday parties were Red Sox themed and she never missed a game on tv. She had her favorite players and loved to talk about trades and sports in general with family members. She loved going on trips to Maine, out on friends’ boats, and dining at her favorite restaurants. Most of all, she loved being with family, enjoying her backyard pool and bird watching on her sun filled deck.
Judy had a smile that would light up a room. She will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all of those whose lives she touched.
