Katherine Murphy

Kathy was the loving Mother of Martin R. Murphy of Rockland MA. Sister of William Coyne and wife Susan of St. Augustine FL, Robert Coyne and wife Ruth Hoisington of Weymouth MA, James Coyne of Rockland MA, Steven Coyne and wife Andrea of Marshfield MA, Mary Beth Eaton of Weymouth MA, and the late Maureen Coyne. She is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Kathy worked for the Department of Mental Health for nearly 30 years and recently retired from Taunton State Hospital. She made many life-long friends throughout her career and brought a smile to all who lived, worked and visited the facility. Kathy was a kid at heart. She loved the beach, camping and especially sitting by the campfire on chilly fall evenings. She was always ready for last minute plans or a quick vacation. She had the best sound-track and was the first to get on the dance floor whether it was “We are Family” or the “Hokey Pokey”.  Kathy always had a big smile and treated everyone she met as though they were already a good friend. She had a great hearty laugh that made everyone want to be around her. A force to be reckoned with, she’ll be immensely missed.  

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, September 29th from 11:00AM-1:00PM at Sullivan Funeral Home in Rockland - 45 E. Water Street. A funeral home service will begin at 1:00PM.
