

Margaret M. Morris of Green Valley, AZ and formerly of Hanover, MA, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 20, 2021. Margaret was born on April 2, 1943 to John and Anna Corbett. Margaret is survived by her husband John D. Morris, to whom she was married for 54 years. Margaret is also survived by her sisters Clare Corbett of East Braintree and Gerada “Gerry” Roy and her husband Anthony Roy of Bethlehem, NH, and three sisters-in-laws, Sr. Jeanne Morris C.D.P. of Kingston, MA, Mary Curtin of South Weymouth, and Maureen Wilberg and her husband Dennis Wilberg of Rutland, VT. Margaret is also survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as several grandnieces and nephews.
Margaret attended Sacred Heart Grammar and High School in Weymouth. Margaret received her Bachelors of Arts Degree from Stonehill College, as well as her Masters Degree in Library Science and a Masters Degree in Business Management, from Simmons College. Margaret started her career at the Bentley College Library in Boston, then on to the University of Massachusetts, and the Gutman School of Education Library at Harvard University in Cambridge, MA. Margaret’s business then took her on to Teradyne in Boston, Honeywell in Northborough, Textron Defense Systems in Andover, and Hood Milk Co. in Charlestown. Margaret also worked for several management consulting companies and ended her career as a Special Project Manager for Bank of America.
Margaret dearly loved her town of Hanover. She was appointed to the Town of Hanover Advisory Committee for 8 years and in 1987, she was elected to the Hanover Board of Selectmen for 4 years. Upon her retirement, Margaret and John moved to an active adult community in Green Valley, AZ, where she took up the game of golf. She was involved in many of the women’s groups, including Ladies Putters and several craft clubs. Margaret was an active member of the Board of the Quail Creek Women’s Club, where she worked tirelessly on their Scholarship Committee.
Visiting hours will be on Friday, September 17th from 4-7 PM at the Sullivan Funeral Homes, 551 Washington Street, Route 53, Hanover. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday September 18th at 9 AM at Saint Mary’s Church, 392 Hanover Street, Route 139, Hanover. Burial will follow at Hanover Center Cemetery, in the family plot.
