
Mrs. Mary H. Harkins McGovern, 88, a former resident of Abington and South Weymouth died Thursday, November 24, 2005 in the Bear Hill Nursing Center in Wakefield after a long illness. The daughter of the late Eugene J. and Ella F. Healy Harkins, she was born in Boston on May 15, 1917. She was raised and educated in Abington ,where she lived until moving to South Weymouth in 1978. She was formerly an active member of St. Bridget Parish in Abington. Mrs. McGovern served in the Marines during WWII. Wife of the late John F. McGovern, mother of Mary McGovern Moscato, her husband, Richard and their daughter, Lauren of Wakefield, Judy McGovern Williams, her husband Brian and their children, Megan, Lindsey, Molly, Whitney and Gavin of Hingham, Richard McGovern his wife Colleen and their children, Grace, Cameron and Patrick of Billerica and John McGovern, his wife Martha and their children, Zachary and Dillon of Bridgewater. Also survived by 1 sister in law, Helen McGovern of Abington. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 26, 2005 at 11 AM in St. Bridget Church, 455 Plymouth Street, Rte 58 in Abington. Internment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery in Rockland. Visiting in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 45 East Water Street in ROCKLAND on Saturday morning from 9:30-10:30 AM. Memorial donations may be made to St. Bridget's Church.
