

Born in Boston on December 10, 1934, she was the beloved daughter of the late William and Florence Halpin. Shirley was a proud graduate of Boston City Hospital School of Nursing and dedicated her life to caring for others. She worked for many years at Carney Hospital and later served as Clinical Director at the Quincy Cerebral Palsy Center. This role, caring for children, was the most rewarding of her career.
Shirley was predeceased by her husbands, John “Jack” Flaherty and James Connor. She was the loving mother of Bruce Connor and his wife, Linda, of Quincy; Denise Rohaly of South Carolina; Colleen McClintock and her husband, John, of Abington; Ann Marie Kelly and her husband, Greg, of Rockland; Patricia Naughton and her husband, John, of Quincy; Judy Laird and her husband, Mitch, of Dracut; Shirley Connor of Quincy; Michael Flaherty and his wife, Karen, of Quincy; and James Flaherty of Canton. She was also predeceased by her children Maryann (Flaherty) Cameron and Jack P. Flaherty. She was the dear sister of the late William Halpin and the late Thomas “Skip” Halpin. Shirley was a cherished grandmother of 21 and great-grandmother of 15. She also leaves many loving nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held at the Sullivan Funeral Home, 45 East Water Street, Rockland, on Wednesday, March 25th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral home service will be held on Thursday, March 25th at 10:30AM, followed by burial at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 12:30PM.

Shirley will be remembered for her compassion, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her legacy of care and kindness will live on in all who knew and loved her.
