Mrs. Shirley L. Godfrey, 71 of Hanson died Friday, September 29, 2006 at home after an illness of Cancer. The daughter of the late Lawrence and Elda Messina Jordan, she was born in Winthrop on December 24, 1934. Mrs. Godfrey was a devoted private piano teacher in Hanson for over 30 years. She enjoyed cooking, baking and was a devoted Red Sox Fan. She is survived by her husband, Douglas Godfrey, 5 children, Stephen Godfrey of Hanson, Susan Cousens of Hanson, Shelley Jefferson of Whitman, Lawrence Godfrey of Hull and John Godfrey of Middleboro, 6 grandchildren, 1 brother, Lawrence Jordan of Carlsbad CA and 1 sister, Judith Smaller of Rockland. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at 9 AM in St. Joseph the Worker Church, 1 Maquan Street, Rte 14 in Hanson. Interment in the Mass National Cemetery in Bourne. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 2 Maquan Street at the corner of Rte 14 and 58 in HANSON on Tuesday from 4-8 PM.
