

Theresa A. Wilcox, 61 of Abington formerly of Weymouth and Hanover died at home on Saturday, November 21, 2009. She was born in Bridgewater on October 29, 1948. She was raised in Hanover and was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Kingston. Terry received a degree in Nursing and a Master's in Psychology from Boston College. Among her accomplishments, Terry founded and was the President of Child Safe. The organization was a legal, protective and counseling organization committed to the safety of abused children. She was a longtime resident of Weymouth, moving to Abington this year. She was the daughter of Theresa Mello Wilcox of Hanover and the late Homer Wilcox, mother of Jon Ferry of Brockton and Jaina Bain of Weymouth, sister of Paul Wilcox of Pembroke and Carol Wilcox of Duxbury. Also survived by 3 grandchildren, Austin Ferry and Chance and Caleigh Bain. Visitation in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St., Rte 53 in HANOVER on Saturday from 11-12 noon, followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:30 PM in St. Mary of the Sacred Heart Church, 392 Hanover St., Rte 139 in Hanover. Interment at a later date in Hanover Center Cemetery. Memorail donation's in Terry's name may be made to the Joslin Diabetes Center, Development Office, One Joslin Place, Boston MA 02215.
