

Victor Henry Karstunen, 72 of Pembroke, peacefully passes away at South Shore Hospital on Saturday, February 25, 2017. He was born May 8, 1944 in Quincy. The son of the late Niilo and Leonore R. (Suket) Karstunen. Victor served in the United States Army during Vietnam in 1965-1967; and after, he worked for Prudential Insurance as a salesman until he received his Brokers License. He continued as a Broker in Insurance sales until a heart attack in 1994. Upon recuperation, he continued with various part-time jobs, one of which was setting up wedding cakes for Montilio's Bakery in Quincy.
Victor was the beloved husband of Irene P. (Harrington) Karstunen and the dear brother of the late Alan F. Karstunen. He leaves many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He enjoyed most sports, especially the Boston Celtics and New England Patriots. Over a 40 year period, Victor and Irene enjoyed a number of cruises to the Caribbean, Alaska, and the Mediterranean with friends and family members. Victor was devoted to his many pets over the years; 2 wonderful German Shepherds and a large family of cats, all his babies.
Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Homes, 551 Washington St. Rte. 53, Hanover on Wednesday, March 1st from 5-8 PM. A funeral home service will be held on Thursday at 9 AM. Burial at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
