Mrs. Virginia Vera Alvanas of Norwell died Monday, December 25, 2006 in the Southwood Nursing Home in Norwell after a short illness. The daughter of the late William C. and Robena McGinnes King, she was born in Block Island RI. Mrs. Alvanas liked spending time with her family and gardening. Wife of the late Jack M. Alvanas, to whom she was married for 63 years, she is survived by 1 son Robert K. Alvanas of Norwell, 1 daughter, Nancy G. Carey of Marshfield, 1 brother, Harold D. King of Norwell, 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late William King, Ralph King, Elizabeth Gerberville and Robena Anthony. Funeral Service in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington Street, Rte 53 in HANOVER on Friday at 11 AM. Interment in Washington Street Cemetery in Norwell. Visiting hours on Thursday from 4-7 PM.
