

A graduate of Rockland High School and Northeastern University, he proudly served our country in the United States Army. Bill had a long career as a pharmacist and owner of Burke’s Pharmacy in Rockland and Wellfleet Pharmacy in Wellfleet. Bill was also a pharmacist at CVS in Duxbury and Sandwich. He was a member of the Clover Club of Boston and former member of the Rockland Board of Selectmen. In later years, Bill and his wife Bonnie spent the winters among friends at Japanese Gardens in Venice Florida, where Bill enjoyed playing Bocce. He was also a lifelong Patriots fan.
Bill is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bonnie (Donnelly); his sister Kathleen Paulding of Boylston; his daughter Beth Lemire and her husband Tom of Acton; his son Bill and his wife Karen of Centerville; his grandchildren Brendan Lemire, Sarah Lemire, Colin Lemire, Greg Lemire, Shayne Burke and Kara Burke. Bill was predeceased by his sister Rosemary McDougall of Rockland.
Visiting hours will be at Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St. Rte. 53, Hanover, on Wednesday, November 8th from 4:00-7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, 403 Union St, Rockland, on Thursday, November 9th at 9:00 AM followed by burial with Military Honors at Holy Family Cemetery, 92 Centre Avenue, Rockland.
