Juanita M. Ortiz

Harlingen, TX- Juanita M. Ortiz, 85, of Harlingen, Texas passed away at Valley Baptist Medical Center in the loving care of her family on August 12, 2015. Juanita was born on April 14, 1930 to Victoria and Justo Moreno in Laredo, Texas. Since a Child she was a mother and an inspiration toward her siblings, children, and grandchildren. Her passion was the Lord attending church every Sunday. She visited the residents of the Hacienda Nursing Home. She Loved being with her friends till the end. Mrs. Ortiz was much loved and a loving wife of Mr. Pedro Ortiz Sr.

Juanita was preceded in death by her parents Justo and Victoria H. Moreno, and husband Pedro Ortiz Sr., Her brothers Gavino Moreno, Jose Justo Moreno, and Andres Moreno. Her son Alfredo A. Ortiz. She was survived by her brothers and sisters Justo Moreno Jr. of Las Angeles, CA., Pedro(Liz) Moreno of San Bernadino, CA., Jose F.(Norma) Moreno of South Gate, MI., Mario Moreno of Hgn, Tx., Yolanda Llanes Detroit, MI., Victoriana (Mario)Aragon of San Antonio, TX, Maria De La Luz Dunham of Greenville, MI., Magdalena Givens of River Rouge, MI. Mrs. Ortiz was also survived by her Children most of who reside in Harlingen: Marie Elvira(Justo) Delgado, Daughter-in-Law Sylvia(Alfredo A.) Ortiz, Pedro Ortiz Jr., George(Gloria) Acosta of Aransas Pass, TX, Jose R. Ortiz Hgn, Tx. and 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, several cousins, and numerous nephews and nieces.

Pallbearers are to be : Pedro Ortiz Jr, George Acosta, Michael E. Pecina, Andrew N. Betancourt, Samuel Glenn Ortiz, Gonzalo Gonzales, and Honorary Pallbearer Ronnin L. Ortiz.

Visitation will be held on, Sunday, August 14, 2015 beginning at 3:00 p.m., and will continue until 9 p.m., with an evening Rosary Service to begin at 7 p.m., at Funeraria Del Angel. A church service will be held Monday 10:00am at the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. All services will conclude Monday 11:00am with a cemetery burial. As per the families wishes she will be buried at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria, Texas
