

He was born June 19, 1941, in Iredell County and was the son of the late Don Carlos and Lodemia Mitchell Prevette. He was a graduate of Union Grove High School and a faithful member of Gospel Light Baptist Church which he attended regularly when able. He was forced to retire 20 years ago due to a cancerous brain tumor. He loved his work with Commercial Courier Express because he got to do two things he enjoyed, driving and meeting people, and he had friends at all of his stops. He was also a professional photographer for many years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Shan Prevette.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Carolyn Goodin Prevette, whom he married on March 18, 1967; a son, Don Harrison Prevette of Kernersville; a daughter, Anita Prevette Brock and his son-in-law, Keith Allen Brock, of Greenville, NC; seven grandchildren, Blake Harrison Prevette, Austin Luke Prevette, Ally Parker Prevette, Kelsi Ann Brock, Kaley Joy Brock, Karis Faith Brock, and Keith Daniel Brock.
Funeral services celebrating Tony’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 2, 2012, at Grassy Knob Baptist Church in Union Grove with the Rev. Bobby Roberson officiating. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the funeral hour and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 PM Friday in the Ernest Troutman Memorial Chapel of Reavis Funeral Home of Harmony.
