Alexis Rose Hendrickes

Alexis R. Hendrickes, 16 years old of Harrisburg, PA passed away March 28, 2016. Alexis was a graduate of Saint Margaret Mary School and a junior at Bishop McDevitt High School, both in Harrisburg, PA. Alexis was 4th generation Crusader on her Mother's side to attend Bishop McDevitt High School. She would have graduated with her class in 2017. She attended Richie School of Dance where she took ballet, tap, baton and jazz classes for many years. She was a cheerleader for Saint Margaret Mary School. At Bishop McDevitt High School she was on the yearbook staff and the track and field team, throwing shot put. Alexis volunteered at the Dauphin County Library, East Shore branch, for six years. She had several new books in circulation named in her honor for her volunteer service. Alexis proudly knew her library card number by heart at the age of 6. Alexis worked summers, starting at age 5, till age 10, as an "honorary" staffer at her Mother's former place of employment, the Democratic House Appropriations Committee, in the PA House of Representatives, under State Representative Dwight Evans, from Philadelphia, PA. During her time there she made friends with Governors, Mayors, House Members, Senators, Lobbyists and Capitol Staff. Alexis loved reading books, listening to music, binge watching Netflix, any and all animals, going to Chipotle, cooking, hanging with her friends and laughing. She had a passion for biology and was touring colleges to become a Physician's Assistant. She is preceded in death by her maternal Grandmother Rose Marie Fuller and paternal Grandmother, Cynthia R. Hendrickes who she lovingly called Nanny, both of Harrisburg, PA. She is survived by her father Willie Hendrickes, III, her mother, Lisa (Fuller) Hendrickes and her beloved cat, Oreo, all of Harrisburg. In addition she is survived by her paternal Grandfather, Willie Hendrickes Jr, of Harrisburg; Uncles, Donald R. Fuller Jr (Margery Hempt), New Cumberland, Kevin D. Fuller (Beth), Hawaii and Alvin J. Hendrickes (Dona Erhart), Lewistown. She is survived by Aunts, Michele A. Fuller, Steelton, Katrina Hendrickes, South Carolina and Dolly Hendrickes, Harrisburg. Cousins, Brandon Fuller, Harrisburg, PA, Colby Hendrickes, Williamsport, Kyle Hendrickes, Lewistown, Ariel Thompson, North Carolina, Micaiah Hendrickes, Cameron Hendrickes, both of Lewistown and Thomas Hendrickes, Harrisburg, a host of Great Aunts and Uncles and many, many friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 PM Monday, April 4, 2016 at Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque Catholic Church, 2800 Paxton Church Road, Harrisburg. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM Monday until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bishop McDevitt High School's Alexis R.
