Barbara B. Karper

She was born January 25, 1930 in Easton, PA; she was the daughter of the late Fred and Fannie (Scheffer) Beistline; and preceded in death by her husband, Jack Karper, and sister Sherrie Shue. She was a devoted mother of Kim Robison (husband Frank) and Karen Hare (husband Greg) both of Harrisburg and a loving grandmother of four grandchildren: Cassandra Hare, Michelle Hare, Mathew Hare and Johnathan Hare, 2 nieces and 1 nephew.

Barbara graduated from John Harris High School, worked for Bell Telephone, and retired from the PA Department of Agriculture with 26 years of service. She was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church, Harrisburg.

Barbara loved to knit, going to the beach, swim, play volleyball and bingo, and spending time with her family and pets. She was a lover of animals and would spend many hours watching the birds and other critters

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 22, 2014 in the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg. Viewing will be held from 10:00 AM Wednesday until time of service. Burial will be held immediately following the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, the Jewish Home of Greater Harrisburg, or the Humane Society of Greater Harrisburg.
