Born October 19,1949 in Steelton, she was the daughter of the late James E. Scott II and Mary Wherry-Scott; and preceded in death by her husband, Sumter H. Black Jr.; 3 brothers, Chester Scott, Charles Scott and Norman Scott; sister, Theresa Scott; her step-mother, Minnie Allison; 2 stepsisters, Mary London and Doris Banks; and step-brother, John Lee Allison.
Surviving is her son, Robert Brownlee; 2 daughters, Nicol Corbin and Melinda Brownlee-Anderson and her husband Harold; 3 brothers, James Scott III, Louis Scott and Benjamin Scott; 3 sisters, Estella Scott-Powell, Mary Scott and Joyce Scott; 4 grandchildren, Shucara Dearing, Cheyenne House (Branden Baltimore), Monti West and Sydney Johnson; 6 great-grandchildren, Mikayla Sykes, Treasure Dearing, Dhyshalies Holmes, Kaeden Dearing-Briddell, Douglas Briddell Jr. and Branden Baltimore Jr.; her Godson, Rashad Watson (Keisha); her step-sister, Betty Williams; and a host of family and friends.
She was a former employee for TRW and was a retired employee from the former Dauphin Manor.
Honey was raised on the Westside of Steelton and attended Steelton schools and received her GED from Harrisburg High.
She was a member of the Harrisburg Elks Unity Temple # 61 and the American Legion Post 733.
Our mother truly loved her family and spoiling her grandkids and great-grandkids; playing cards, especially with her Duce Card Club family, playing Pokeno and was very witty. She was down to earth, straight up! Pulling no punches and most of all very outspoken.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 17, 2026 in the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. A viewing will be from 9:00 AM Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
The Repass will be held at 2:30 PM following the internment at the S Club, 2940 N 7th St., Harrisburg, PA 17110.
