Charles Z. Weand

Charles Z. Weand, 91, of Harrisburg passed away Thursday, August 27, 2015 at home surrounded by his family. He was the son of the late Charles and Grace (Ebert) Weand. Charles retired from PP&L, and an Army Air Corp World War II veteran. A member of Rutherford Heights Lions Club; Pine Grove American Legion; Harrisburg Lodge # 629 and the Tall Cedars of Lebanon Forest # 43. Charles was very active committee man for Swatara Twp., Republican Party. He was a main figure with Harrisburg Hunters and Anglers Club were each year he taught children how to fish. Besides fishing and camping, his real joy in life was traveling and spending time with Ruth, his best friend and love of his life. He was predeceased, by a brother William. Surviving are his wife Ruth (Knoll) Weand; two brothers Carl of Texas and Arnold of Florida; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Tuesday, September 1, 2015 in the Neill Funeral Home 3501 Derry Street Harrisburg, with Rev. Keith Blank officiating. Viewing will be 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Monday August 31, 2015 in the funeral home and on Tuesday 9:30 am to time of service. Burial with full military honors will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
