On Wednesday October 20, 2021, Retired State Trooper Clinton Hammond entered his eternal life with Jesus Christ his Lord and Savior. He passed away in his home surrounded by his wife. He was proceeded in death by his parents Clinton and Florence Hammond.
He is survived by the love of his life Mary (Penny) who he was married to for 53 wonderful years. He is also survived by his son Gregory (Colleen) of Wall Township, NJ, his two daughters Paula (William) of Westminster, SC and Michele (Ron) of Harrisburg, PA. He also had 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Clinton retired for the State Police in 1992 after 25 years of services. He is best known for being called “Officer Friendly” serving as the Safety Education Officer in the Community Service Department of Troop H. He helped educate thousands of elementary school students throughout his years on bicycle, driver’s education and stranger danger. He was also instrumental in starting Camp Cadet for Troop H in Harrisburg. He also drove School Bus for the Central Dauphin School District.
