Randy is survived by his son, James A. Sayers, wife Kimberley Haver and grandchildren, Jackson, Wiley and Juliet Sayers; Sister Barb Ward and her Husband Bill Ward; Sister Cindy Weesner and her Husband Tom Weesner, and his companion Constance Miller. He was preceded in death by his Wife Joan E. Sayers, Father James E. Sayers and Mother Joanne M. Sayers.
Randy was born in 1946, in Warren, Ohio, before eventually moving to the Harrisburg Area. He graduated from Susquehanna High School in 1964, and married Joan in 1969 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Camp Hill, PA. He proudly served in the Air Force during Viet Nam, followed by a successful 50 year career in the Information Technology Field – working in both the Private and Public Sectors, culminating with retirement from the Maryland State Court System in Annapolis.
Randy was an outgoing and engaging person who loved telling jokes, singing karaoke, watching his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers, meeting other Veterans, boating on the Chesapeake Bay, and driving his prized Corvettes. Most of all, he was devoted to his grandchildren and was always there in the stands, and on the sidelines to cheer them on.
A private, family funeral is scheduled at the East Harrisburg Cemetery. Father Louis Noplos of Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church (Parkville, MD) will officiate the ceremony. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to The American Cancer Society. Condolences can be sent to Neill Funeral Home in Harrisburg, PA. The family would like to thank caregivers from Heartland Hospice and Moon River Senior Care for their dedicated efforts to make Randy as comfortable as possible during his final days.
