Dora Jane Dean

Dora Jane (Frangona) Dean, 97, passed away on June 19, 2025. A 1949 graduate of Mount Mercy College (Carlow University), she was the Assistant Director of Recreation for the City of Butler before becoming employed by the Department of Defense.

Dora was preceded in death by her beloved husband George, her parents Gaetana and Antonio Frangona, and her siblings Joseph Frangona, Jean Mamula, and Esther Frangona. She is survived by her children Gaetana Hamonko (Michael), Domenica Dean, and Andrea Dean (Jeffrey Wampler); her grandchildren Elizabeth Hamonko, Sarah Dickmyer (Scotty), and Michael Hamonko; her great-grandchildren Matthew and Madeleine Dickmyer; and her sister Amelia Tulino and her sister-in-law Joan Frangona.

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Catherine Labouré Catholic Church on June 25, 2025, followed by interment at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
