Eugene R. Dare

Eugene R. Dare, 80, passed away Friday November 2, 2012, in Colonial Park Care Center. Eugene is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy A.(Robinson) Dare, his three daughters Linda L. and husband Michael Wass , Kathryn M. Dare, all of Harrisburg, Polly A. Ferron, of Middletown, PA, three grandchildren, Jayson M. Kern, Shannon L. Wass and Anna Marie Bogdan, two great- grandchildren, Leslie and Jayde.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Ray E. and Kathryn M.(Farver) Dare, and brother Ronald W. Dare.

He was a graduate of John Harris High School, class of 1951.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the KoreanWar.

Eugene retired in 1977 from the Mechanicsburg Naval Ships Yard Control Center.

He was a Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State fan; he also enjoyed woodworking making toys and furniture.

Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 Am Tuesday, November 6, 2012, from Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St. Harrisburg, with viewing from 10:00 to 11:00 prior to service. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, with full military honors.
