

Born November 30, 1929, in Paxtonia, PA, he was the son of the late Harry P. and Fannie (Winters) Stroup, Sr; and preceded in death by his wife, Julia (Gehrer) Stroup.
Harry was a retired employee from BASCO Associates, Harrisburg, and a US Army Veteran of the Korean War and was a former Captain and Company Commander 28th Military Police Company, PA National Guard. He was a member of the Palmyra Church of the Brethren, the Harrisburg Lodge 629 F&AM, the Harrisburg Consistory, National Sojourners, and a past commander and life member of the Lawnton American Legion Post 998, and a past member of the Harrisburg Society of the 40 and 8.
He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Groff (James), of Vancouver, WA; his son, William Sypher (Vanassa), of Jonestown; his son, David Thomas (Pam); 4 grandchildren, Matthew, Kristopher, Ryan, & Sarah; and 2 great-granddaughters.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, July 16, 2017, at 5:00 pm, in Londonderry Village, 1200 Grubb Rd, Palmyra, with a viewing from 4:00 pm, until the time of service. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, on Monday, July 17, 2017, at 10:30 am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his church at 45 N. Chestnut Street, Palmyra, PA 17078.
