

Harrisburg, passed away on
Thursday, Sept 1, 2011 at
Harrisburg Hospital. Born
in Syracuse, New York, on
February 14, 1927, he was
the son of the late Clayton
and Alice Wood. He attended
LeMoyne College in New York,
and served in the U.S. Coast
Guard during World War II.
He retired from a long work
history as a Truck Tire
Salesman. He was well-liked
by everyone and was often
referred to as "General Jack."
Jack is survived by his
loving wife, Lois, of 53 years;
2 children: Betsy Weaver of Halifax
(husband, Paul, Jr), and Gary
Wood of Harrisburg (wife, Maria);
4 grandchildren: Jonathon and
Sarah Weaver, Megan and Jack
Wood; a sister, Betty Englert, of
Chapel Hill, N.C (husband, John).
He remained in close
contact with his childhood best
friend, Ken Harblin (wife, Toni)
from Watertown, New York, to the
very end.
Jack was a lifetime member
of the Sunbury Mason Lodge,
Harrisburg Consistory, and the
Sunbury VFW, Post 1532;
a member of the Mohler
Center in Hershey. He had an
act of making people laugh.
Visitation will be
held Tues, Sept 6th from
7-8pm and on Wed, Sept 7th
from 9-10AM, both at Church
of the Redeemer in Hershey.
Memorial Service will be held
Wed, Sept 7th, from 10-11AM
at the Church of the Redeemer
in Hershey. Burial will be at
Fort Indiantown Gap at 2:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial
contributions may be made to
the UCC Church of the
Redeemer, Hershey, PA, in
memory of Jack T. Wood.
