

Born November 2, 1929 in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late James F. and Margaret Findlay McKenna.
He was a retired employee of the U.S. Postal Service, Harrisburg, and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, a member of St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church and the American Legion.
He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and loved watching his grandson Jesse play baseball and his grandson Nathan play football.
Throughout his long illness he always had a joke and a smile for everyone. We will all miss his smile, his sense of humor, and his dedication to his family.
Surviving is his wife of 57 years, Rosalie C. Gruber McKenna, his son Dennis McKenna of Elizabethville, his daughters Marianne McKenna of Harrisburg, Karen Cavanaugh and her husband Thomas of Mechanicsburg, and Margaret Deaner of New Cumberland, his grandchildren, Melissa, Julie, Erin, Sarah, Jesse and Nathan, and his great grandson Luca. He is also survived by his brothers William and Joseph McKenna of Pittsburgh.
He was preceded in death by his sister Grace McAfee and his son in law, William L. Deaner.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 3, 2011 in St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, 4000 Derry St., Harrisburg. Burial with military honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at 1:00pm. A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday to time of service at the church.
