
He was a retired truck driver for Conestoga Tile Co., Harrisburg; and raced car # 47 for Gerald Burkett for 28 years. He graduated from Lower Paxton High School in 1947 and went on to serve in the United States Army National Guard, where he was stationed in Germany during the Korean War. A race car enthusiast, he began driving competitively at local speedways in 1954, and by 1960 he was lauded as one of the most successful drivers in the area. He retired from his racing career in 1980, and since that time, he has been an avid golfer at the Sportsman’s Golf Course. He was inducted into the Capital Area Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame; was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 869, Sons of Italy Lodge 2857, and the Middletown Order of the Moose Lodge 410.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patricia A. (Maxwell) Parthemore; his son, Perry Lee Hall, wife Rhonda Hall, of Elkton, MD; 3 grandchildren & 1 great grandchild; his god daughter, Rhonda Giddings, husband, Phillip Koenig, their daughter, Nia; sister-in-law, Phyllis Etter and family, of Middletown; and several nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held 10:00 AM Friday, June 1, 2012 followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM in the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
