Margaret M. Cichy

Born on May 18, 1924 in Harrisburg, PA, she was wife to the dearly departed Charles J. Cichy for 58 years, a loving daughter to the late John Henry and Grace Louella (Hutchinson) Ferree; and step-father Angelo Pomone, and sister to the late Adelaide Boyer, Warren McKeever, Marian Harlan, James Pomone, and Robert Pomone. A cherished Mother of six children; Charles (Neva Shaffer) Cichy Jr., Michael (Renee Jirik) Cichy, Colleen (Carl) Westhafer, Beverly (Andrew) Lichkus, Janice (Vincent) Delaney, and Scott (Stephanie Gettle) Cichy.; a treasured grandmother of fifteen grandchildren; Matthew, Jamie, Ryan, Brandon, Rachael, and Jacob Cichy, Jessica Muir, Erica Weis, Corinne and Christian Westhafer, Jonathan, Richard, and Ashley Lichkus, Amanda and Jennifer Delaney; an adoring great-grandmother to Bryan Cichy, Michael and Katherine Muir, and one anticipated great-grandson Weis. Sister to Nancy Pomone, Gloria McCloskey, Linda Burge, and Barbara Wolfe.

She was a loving and supportive mother who also worked successfully for 25 years in patient transport at the Hershey Medical Center, where she was awarded for her service during the TMI crisis. She had 2 years of service there with perfect attendance. She enjoyed the seashore and boardwalk at Atlantic City, NJ and also shopping and spending time with her sisters. A devout Catholic, she was a member of St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, 4000 Derry St., Harrisburg, PA; where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 9:45 AM. Interment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery following the Mass @ 11:30 AM. Viewings will be held at Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg, on Monday, February 20, 2012, from 7:00-9:00 PM and Tuesday from 8:30- 9:30 AM.
