Mary E. "Betty" McLaughlin

Mary E. (Betty) Mclaughlin, 89, of Harrisburg passed away at Harrisburg hospital on Friday, September 19, 2014. Betty was the widow of LT. Col.Robert L. Mclaughlin and was born on February 12,1925 in Franklin, Pa., the daughter of the late Charles and Agnes (Marcinko) Schrock. Betty retired from the former Villia Theresa Nursing Home. She was a member of St. Margaret Mary s Catholic Church; member of the American Legion post 1001 ladies auxiliary, Rutherford VFW auxiliary; and the Paxtang Art Association. Betty enjoyed painting and hand crafts and recently just started playing the harmonica. Betty was a friendly, outgoing person who loved being with people and most of all her family. Surviving are her daughter Patricia and (Edmond) Coulson of Savannah GA; Three sons James and (Lisa) Mclaughlin; Dennis and ( Cindy) Mclaughlin both of Harrisburg; Robert and (Diane) of Mechanicsburg. Ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Predeceased in death by a sister Jean and a brother Donald. Mass of Christian burial will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, September 24, 2014 in St. Margaret Mary's Catholic Church, 2800 Paxton Church Rd, Harrisburg, PA 17110. Burial will be in Arlington National cemetery. Viewing will be held 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a rosary at 7:30 pm Tuesday in the Neill Funeral Home 3501 Derry Street Harrisburg; and Wednesday at 10:00 am to time of mass in her church.
