

He was born November 29, 1938, in Harrisburg; he was the son of Nicodemo and Mary Louise (Sansalone) Spagnolo. He is also preceded in death by his brothers, Augusta, Joseph, Vincent and Nicholas; and sister, Rose Spizzirri.
For over 50 years he was self employed running his own Catering business, and he served during peace time in the U.S. Army.
He was a graduate of Catholic High School, class of ‘56 and was a member of St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church.
Bob loved being with his grandchildren, and attending all their sporting events. He loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and boating in Ocean City, Maryland. For many years he coached for Lawnton Little League Baseball and for Lawnton Youth Basketball. He was an avid sports fan, especially Penn State football.
Surviving is his wife of 48 years, Carol L. (D’Agostino) Spagnolo; 2 sons, John R. Spagnolo, his wife, Sue, of Harrisburg and Robert N. Spagnolo, wife, Annette, of Palmyra; daughter, Anita C. Royer, husband, Frank, of Harrisburg; 6 grandchildren, Devin Royer, Trevor Royer, Dylan Spagnolo, Autumn Royer, Jordan Spagnolo and Morgan Spagnolo; 2 brothers, Anthony Spagnolo, of Harrisburg and Philip Spagnolo, of Hershey; and 3 sisters, Angeline Acri, of Hershey, Helen Parshall and Mary Mammola, both of Harrisburg.
A viewing will be held 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm Tuesday, June 14, 2011in the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 8:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 15, 2011 in St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, 4000 Derry St., Harrisburg. Burial with military honors will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
