Susan C. McDonnell

Susan retired after spending her entire career with the Mechanicsburg Naval Supply Logistics Center and a graduate from Cumberland Valley High School, class of 1975.

Susan enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, caring for her mother, cooking, baking, knitting, caring for her numerous houseplants and she was an expert stocking stuffer.

Susan is preceded in death by her daughter, Meaghan McDonnell; her father, William H.L. Peterson; and brother, Ronald Peterson.

Susan is survived by her husband of 42 years, Jerry T. McDonnell; two sons, Sean Patrick McDonnell (Wife, Elizabeth) and Ryan McDonnell; two grandchildren, Patrick and Allison McDonnell; her mother, Maydell Peterson; two brothers, W. David Peterson and Larry S. Peterson (wife, Jill); brother-in-law, Kevin McDonnell (wife, Terri); numerous nieces, nephews, cousins; and her companion, Lilah.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, 4000 Derry St., Harrisburg. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Viewings will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, April 17, 2023 in the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg and 10:00 AM Tuesday until the time of the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Speranza Animal Rescue Services in Mechanicsburg.
