She was born on November 28, 1940 in Renovo, PA, to the late Sylvester and Evelyn (Baker) Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Gallagher and sister Helen Johnson.
Surviving Sylvia is her sister Virginia Stevenson of Renovo, PA. Sylvia’s sons, Thomas, Michael and wife Christine, Sean and wife Kelly, her grandchildren Kiley, Megan, Micaela, Gavin, Quinn, Abbi, Lexi, Brittany, Baily and Abby and great grandchildren Liam and Lorenzo.
She worked at St. Catherine Laboure School for or over 40 years in the cafeteria, she had a passion for her family, loved her flower garden, and birdwatching.
A celebration of life will be held from 9:30-10:30am on Tuesday April 4, 2023 at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church; 4000 Derry Street, Harrisburg, PA 17111. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30am. Private burial will follow at a later date at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
We would like to honor her passion for gardening by wearing vibrant flowered patterns to her celebration of life. She would be so happy to see the pretty flowered outfits.
