
The son of the late Hyrum Chase and Bonnie Anne Bussio Nicol, he was born on March 30, 1943 in Concord, CA. He graduated from Pittsburg High School and received a B.S. Degree in Animal Science from BYU, UT. He also received an MBA Degree from JMU, and served in the Army from 1968 until 1970. Mr. Nicol managed the Swift Poultry Plant and later founded and operated The Printing Express in Harrisonburg for 18 years. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Harrisonburg, and served a 2 year Mission for the Church in Australia. Mr. Nicol was an Eagle Scout and a past Master Councilor of Demoley.
On June 8, 1968 he married Vivian Nicol who survives him.
He is also survived by their nine children; Kim Warnick and her husband, Gregg, of Santaquin, UT; Laurel Maccubbin and her husband, Jeff of Charles Town, WV; Cristie Bastian and her husband, Lance of Lewis Center, OH; Loran Nicol and his wife, Amy of Layton, UT; Bonnie Vashaw and her husband, Joe, of Layton, UT; Sunny Doller and her husband, Karl of Broadway, VA; Glen Nicol and his wife, Sally of Cary, NC; Chad Nicol and his wife, Hanna of Salt Lake City, UT; and Mandy Ames and her husband, Jonathan of San Antonio, TX; thirty grandchildren and one sister, Karen Hooper and her husband, Gary of Springville, UT.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 - 8:00 Sunday evening, Aug. 28, at the Lindsey Harrisonburg Funeral Home.
There will also be a viewing on Monday, Aug. 29 from 10:00 - 10:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 210 South Ave., Harrisonburg, with Bishop James Herrick officiating. Interment will be in the American Fork Cemetery, American Fork, UT.
