She was born on December 30, 1928 and was the daughter of Garland and Lillian Whitesel Smith.
Amelia was a lifelong resident of Harrisonburg and a member of Cooks Creek Presbyterian Church. She was a CNA at Sunnyside Retirement Community before retiring in 1993.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Clatterbuck.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Hollister of Marshall, Michigan; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a niece, Nanette Clatterbuck; a nephew, C. H. Clatterbuck; and special cousins, Robert and Blanche Whitesell.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, January 9, 2015 at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. George Evans officiating.
