Bertie Judith "Judy" May

She was born January 27, 1937 in Fayette County, WV, and was the daughter of the late Conrad H. and Edna Mamoran Vaught.

Judy graduated from Gauley Bridge High School, Morris Harvey College and West Virginia College of Graduate Studies. She was a teacher and Reading Specialist for 35 years for Fayette County Public Schools. After retiring she was an Adjunct Professor of English at West Virginia Institute of Technology.

She was a member of Boomer United Methodist Church and later a member of St. James United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughter Rev. Carrie Talbott and her husband, Pastor Bob Talbott of Mt. Crawford; two sons, Rev. Corbet N. May of Craigsville, WV and Barry May of Waynesboro, VA; a granddaughter, Jenny Norman and her husband Greg, of Mt. Solon; a grandson, Dusty Talbott and his fiancée, Staci Quick of Mt. Solon; a great-granddaughter, Kinsey Talbott Norman; two great-grandsons, Jacob Andrew Norman and Robert Alan Norman; a sister, Jan Vaught Adams and her husband, William of Fort Lauderdale, FL; a brother, Larry G. Vaught and his wife, Linda of Buchannon, WV; two nieces, Dr. Amy Adams and Janna Vaught Adams; three nephews, Scott Adams, and Samuel and Joseph Vaught; and numerous grand-nephews and a grand-niece; and special friends, Lester Hogshead, Judy and Percy Jarrell, and Lois Roberts.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Corbet Edward May.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, May 2, 2015 at St. James U.M.C. with Rev. Kevin Poeckert and Pastor Bob Talbott officiating.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 4, 2015 at Montgomery Memorial Park, 9619 E. Dupont Avenue, London, WV 25126 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm.

A service will follow at 1:00 pm with Rev. Richie McNiel officiating.
