Dear Mattichak family,
We are saddened to hear of Dave's passing, he was such a good neighbor & beekeeper.  We really appreciate all his advice and help over the years, especially his "natural" approach to life, he will be greatly missed!

I didn't know Dave long or very closely, but I will always remember him, his good humor and the things he taught me about beekeeping. Dave will be missed by many. May God's blessing be upon you and your family.

Dear Mrs. Mattichak-- I am saddened to hear of David's passing.  He was my mentor that got me started in beekeeping.  I am still using some of the equipment I got from him.  He was so patient and thorough answering all of my questions.  May God comfort your heart during this time.

Dear Johnnie and family,

I was very sorry to learn of Dave's passing.  It has been some time since I last spoke with him and I was very surprised.  Dave was a good friend always willing to help.  We did not always see eye to eye on certain matters, but I still liked him and respected his point of view.  We had some laughs while in Trout Unlimited and I will never forget our trip to Jeremy Run in Shenandoah National Park to fish.  Dave called and said he knew a short cut and we should go.  He picked me up and upon arrival Dave could not find the trail head according to his map.  I'll spare you the detail but once I was found we found out Dave's map was from the Fifties and the trail was no longer used.  They took Dave's map away from him.  Then there was the time Trout Unlimited was installing habitat in Black Run up in Rawley Springs.  Dave sat down to have his lunch and then realized he was sitting beside a Rattlesnake!  Dave politely moved.  We fished together many times especially when Tom Leigh was living.  We always had some laughs.  I will miss Dave and we send our condolences to you and the entire family.

So sorry to hear about Dave's passing.  I have many fond memories of you and Dave taking care of me as a child.  You are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time!!
