Eddie Williams, Jr.

Eddie Williams, Jr., 72, a resident of Harrisonburg passed away at his home on Thursday, February 18, 2021. He had been sick with myeloma cancer for two years. He was born in Starkville, Mississippi on April 28, 1948 and was the son of Zaddie Mae McGee Ballard of West Point, Mississippi, and the late Eddie Williams, Sr. Eddie graduated from West Point High School in West Point, Mississippi in 1966 and worked for Hertz Rental Cars for 25 years before retiring. He was a member of Northside Christian Church in West Point, Mississippi. He also served in the US Army. Before moving to Harrisonburg in 2014, he lived in New York since 1973. He loved football and NASCAR racing, and cars in general. He enjoyed spending time with his children, that he loved dearly, and his family. He considered his cousins to be like his brothers and sisters. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Ernestine Nance Williams, whom he met in 1973; a son, Eric Howard Williams of Houston, TX, two daughters, Audrea Raina Williams of Wisconsin and Taurus Raina Williams of Richmond, VA, a son, Christopher Edward Williams of Harrisonburg, VA; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his father; a daughter, Katina Spearman; brother, Eddie Dean Williams; and a stepfather, Howard T. Ballard. The family would like to give a special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Hahn Cancer Center for their care. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hahn Cancer Center, c/o RMH Foundation, 2010 Health Campus Dr., Harrisonburg, VA 22801. A memorial service will be held 2 pm, Friday, February 26, 2021 at Lindsey Funeral Home in Harrisonburg with Rev. Robert Jordan officiating. There will not be a formal visitation.
