

Mrs. Eunice Caldwell Thompson, 67, a resident of the Dayton community of Rockingham County, passed away Monday morning, April 1, 2013, at her home. She had not enjoyed good health for the past 5 months.
A daughter of the late Albert and Catherine McDorman Caldwell, she was born on March 14, 1946 in Rockingham County. She lived in Upper Tract, WV for a year, but made her home in Rockingham County for the majority of her life.
Mrs. Thompson had worked for Marvel-Rocco-Cargill in Dayton and Swift Company. She attended Peak Pentecostal Church for the past 35 years, and enjoyed taking care of her children, cooking for her family and going to yard sales.
She is survived by her husband, Ira Blair Thompson; four children, Patricia Fink and husband, Benny of Harrisonburg; Kenny Thompson and wife, Sharon, and Tammy Thompson, of Rawley Springs, VA; and Shawn Thompson of Dayton; six grandchildren, Kevin Harold, and Christopher Fink; Brian Thompson, Travis McNett, Kayla Thompson and Brittany Kline, one great-granddaughter, Haylee Cash; and one brother, Robert Caldwell of Hinton. She also leaves special friends, Sandy Obaugh, Thelma Brooks, Sylvia Caldwell, Lee Brown, and Pastor Laney Knight and wife, Helen. She was preceded in death by a brother, Rocky Caldwell.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 this (Wednesday) evening at the Lindsey Harrisonburg Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at two o’clock Thursday afternoon from the Chapel of the Lindsey Harrisonburg Funeral Home with Pastor Laney Knight and Pastor Sonny Henkel officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Clinton Cemetery.
