A daughter of the late Edward F. and Edna Turner Spitzer, she was born on July 2, 1915 in Rockingham County. She lived all of her life in Rockingham County and had worked for Harrisonburg City School System for 28 years. Mrs. Cavey was a life time member Hose Co. #4 auxiliary and was a member of the Mayland UCC Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Leon Cavey.
She is survived by three children, Robert L. Cavey of Fulks Run; Charles Nelson Cavey of Shenandoah and Janet Hill of Harrisonburg; four grandchildren, Randy, Rodney, and Kevin Hill and Angela Moore; and seven great-grandchildren, Camden, Chandler, Amaya, Trenton, Porter and Abby Hill, Brock and Calvin Moore.
Burial will be private. Friends may call and the home of her daughter, Janet, at any time.
