Ida Ruth Moore

She was born on May 1, 1918 in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and was the daughter of the late David Mantle and Celia Jacob Mantle. Mrs. Moore was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Winchester. She was active in the American Association of University Women and worked with the girl scouts. Mrs. Moore was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas, Texas and Oklahoma State University.

On April 13, 1946 she married Paul T. Moore who died July 4, 2011.

They have two sons, Dr. David M. Moore and his wife, Laurie Pahel, MD of Chapel Hill, NC, and Charles A. Moore and his wife, Diane, of Washington, VA. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Annie Abbitt Moore, Adrianne Harris Moore, Paul Hundley Moore, Dakota Pahel-Short, Elliot Pahel-Short and Corey Pahel-Short. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. in the Strite Auditorium at VMRC, Harrisonburg.
