Kenneth Wayne Thompson

Kenneth Wayne Thompson, 49, a lifelong resident of Hinton, passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at his home. He was born on January 7, 1969 in Harrisonburg and was the son of Blair Thompson of Dayton and the late Eunice Caldwell Thompson. Kenneth graduated from Turner Ashby High School in 1989 and was employed with PCA for 19 years. He was a member of the New Hope Outreach Worship Center. He was an avid bear hunter and loved dog competitions. On June 22, 1991 he married Sharon L. Neff Thompson, who survives. In addition to his wife and father, he is also survived by a daughter, Kayla Lynn Thompson and a step son, Travis McNett both of Hinton; two sisters, Patricia Fink and husband, Benny, of Hinton, Tammy Martz of Singers Glen; a brother, Shawn Thompson and wife, Monica, of Dayton; two nieces and five nephews; a mother-in-law, Shirley Neff and her companion, Eugene Lipscomb, of Hinton; special family, Gene and Edith Simmons of Clover Hill; several special hunting friends and his beloved dogs, Stubby, Ellie Mae, Little Ann, Dan and Chester. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Denver and Hazel Thompson and Albert and Catherine Caldwell. The family will receive friends 6-8:00 pm, Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Lindsey Funeral Home in Harrisonburg. A funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Sunday, August 12, 2018 in the Chapel of the funeral home, with Pastor Mike Reynolds officiating.
