She was born on June 27, 1933 in Bristol, VA and was the daughter of the late Martin Morrison and Sallie Alma Byers Pankey.
Marie graduated from Harrisonburg High School and from Madison College in 1956. In her early years, she was an elementary school teacher in Chicago. She was a collector of items related to Americana and the Statue of Liberty. She loved to buy small memorabilia items from estate auctions and dealers. Marie and Mario moved to Fairfax in the late 1960’s from Michigan.
On August 26, 1961, she married Mario Albert Manecci, who preceded her in death on August 22, 2022.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family and is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and special friends.
A graveside service will be held 2 pm, Friday, September 2, 2022 at Woodbine Cemetery with Rev. Susan Reaves officiating.
