Martha Craun Blizzard

She was born January 10, 1939 in Rockingham County and was the daughter of the late Edward William and Irma Virginia Wease.

Martha graduated from EMHS and worked at the phone company for a few years. She married and was devoted to raising her 4 children. She then volunteered in her spare time to the VA State Republican Party and worked as Banquet Mgr. at Belle Meade and worked at other various jobs.

She is survived by her husband, James D. Blizzard and her former husband, Welty P. Craun; four children, Richard S. Craun, Phyllis C. Armentrout and husband, Tim, Susan C. Messenger and husband, Greg, Linda C. Lugar and husband, Jeff; a step-daughter, Teresa McIntyre and husband, David; nine grandchildren, one step-granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Leroy Wease and wife, Fern, Lynn Wease and wife, Sara, Robert “Bobby” Wease and wife, Teresa; one sister, Mary Jane Staples and husband, Larry; and one sister-in-law, Barbara Wease.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by an infant sister, Betty Wease; a brother, Gary Arnold Wease; a grandson John P. Armentrout; and a step-daughter, Tammy Blizzard.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Lindsey Funeral Home in Harrisonburg.

Pastor Mark Keller will conduct a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on January 30, 2015 at Harrisonburg Mennonite Church.

Burial will be at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in Harrisonburg.
