Michael Wayne Yancey

Michael Wayne Yancey, 67, of Port Republic Road in Harrisonburg, died Saturday night, November 17, 2018, at his home. He was born on February 8, 1951 in Staunton, Virginia, and was a son of the late Charles and Roberta Yancey. Michael was a member and deacon at Bethlehem Brethren Church in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Surviving are his wife, Frances Yancey of Harrisonburg; seven children, Maria Hill of Staunton, VA, Priscilla Haliburton, Felicia Edlin, Latara Edlin, and Tony Edlin, all of Harrisonburg, Jermaine Donnelly and wife, April, of Jacksonville, FL, Rachelle Yancey of Reading, PA; one brother, Jimmy Yancey of Laurel, MD; three sisters, Geneva Mathews and husband, Bill, Loretta Dunnings of Staunton, VA, and Sandra Lewis and husband, Junius, of Virginia Beach, VA; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother in law, Garland Dunnings. A memorial service will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the Bethlehem Brethren Church by Dr. Tom Smith. The family will receive friends from 10 am to 12 noon Saturday at the church prior to the service. Friends may also call at his residence at any time. Flowers will be received at his residence or may be taken to the church on Saturday morning prior to the visitation and service.
