Mildred "Mickey" Jean Lucas

She was born on December 17, 1926 in Rockingham County and was the daughter of the late S. R. and Edna Carl Mathias.

Mildred lived the majority of her life in Harrisonburg and had been employed with Owens Brockway.

She married William Edward Lucas, Sr. who preceded her in death on February 15, 1998.

She is survived by two daughters, Judy L. Hulvey and Carolyn L. Sligh; a son William E. Lucas, Jr. and wife, Vicki, all of Harrisonburg; grandchildren, Danny Sligh, Amy Hooke and husband, William, Kristen and Brandon Lucas; great-grandchildren, Cayden Lucas, Emma and Alison Hooke, Dylan Sligh; sisters, Lucille Glover, Thelma Phillips and Fay McCabe all of Harrisonburg; sisters-in-law, Helen Mathias of Bridgewater and Dorothy Mathias of Stuarts Draft; a step-daughter, Dawn Miller and husband, Harry; step-grandchildren, Travis and Troy Miller; step great-grandchildren, Corbin, Owen and Simon Miller.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Ruth Stratton and Margaret Turner; and brothers, Robert and William Mathias

The family will receive friends 6-8:00 pm, Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Lindsey Funeral Home in Harrisonburg.

A graveside service will be held 10:00 am, Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens with Chaplain Paul O’Gorek officiating.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 am, at Meredith Chapel at Sunnyside following the graveside service.
