Ricardo Ricky Guadalupe Valencia-Rocha

A son of Ricardo Valencia of Shenandoah and Gloria Rocha of Harrisonburg, he was born on April 6, 1995, in Harrisonburg.

He was a rising junior at Harrisonburg High School, where he was a wrestler and a former football player for the Blue Streaks. Ricky was also active with Streaks Serve the Burg for the HHS Athletes and was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

Surviving, in addition to his parents, are two sisters, Maritza Valencia-Rocha and Karina M. Valencia; stepfather, Clemente Lopez of Harrisonburg; and stepmother, Elizabeth Valencia of Shenandoah. He was preceded in death by a sister, Gloria Trinidad Lopez Rocha.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Harrisonburg High School.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be held Wednesday, Aug. 17, at 3 p.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Father Tom Mattingly officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
