

He was born on January 27, 1926 in Harrisonburg and was the son of the late Ellis and Keziah Lloyd Leake.
Bob graduated from Harrisonburg High School and Madison College. He was a teacher and coach for Broadway High School, Central High School, Georgetown Prep and Severna Park High School. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Bob enjoyed golf and traveling throughout the United States and Europe; he attended several winter and summer Olympics. He served in the US Army during WWII in the European Theater.
He is survived by a brother, John G. Leake and wife, Rosalie, of Harrisonburg; a niece and six nephews, Victor Smith, David Smith, Anne Turner all of Harrisonburg, John G. Leake, Jr. of Louisville, KY, Joe Leake of Weyers Cave, Daniel Leake and W. T. Leake both of Harrisonburg; numerous great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Thomas “Tomb” Leake, and one sister, Audrey L. Smith.
Bob will be cremated and a memorial service will be held 2:00 pm, Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Lindsey Funeral Home in Harrisonburg with Chaplain Gary Edlind, Sr. officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service at the funeral home. Private inurnment will be at Woodbine Cemetery with military honors by Dayton American Legion Post #27.
