She was born on February 3, 1942, in Illinois and was the daughter of the late Clyde J. and Ardeth V. McCreedy Putnam.
Sandy was of the Presbyterian faith and was a nurse before retiring.
On May 2, 1965, she married Richard Edward Pennington, who preceded her in death on January 10, 1996.
She is survived by a daughter, Melinda Louise Pennington of Petersburg, VA.
Per her request, there will be no services. She will be laid to rest in Culpeper National Cemetery with her husband.
