Saturday morning, April 9, 2011, at the Rockingham Memorial Hospital. He had been ill for the last several weeks.
A son of the late James and Rosie Stallings Marquess, he was born on April 28, 1925, in Friendship, MD and was a machinist. He had served in the Navy during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Adamson Marquess; one daughter, Tanka Bowman and her husband, Bill of Pasadena, MD and one grandchild, Billy Bowman.
The family received friends from 7:00 until 8:00 Sunday evening at the Lindsey Harrisonburg Funeral Home.
Funeral services and burial will be private.
