Marshall Lewis Gilbert

Marshall Lewis Gilbert, age 94, of Harrogate TN, was born August 29, 1923 and passed away on November 5, 2017. Marshall was a man who loved his wife Mary. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and working on lawn mowers. Marshall served in the U.S. Coast Guard, he was a member of Pump Springs Baptist Church, a lifetime member of the Shawanee Masonic Lodge and served as a Claiborne County Commissioner for several years. He was a loving father of five, grandfather of nine, great grandfather of twenty and great-great grandfather of one. He is preceded in death by his parents Tip and Deliah Wolfe Gilbert. His loving wife Mary Patterson Gilbert and infant daughter Mary Lou Gilbert. Five brothers and two sisters. Son-in-law Bill Muncy.

He is survived by his children: Dee Anna Muncy, Sue (Randall) Carter, Bobby Gilbert, Jim Tom (Connie) Gilbert.

Grandchildren: Sherri Dee (Tom) Leach, Travis (Wendy) Muncy, Melanie (Jordan) Yeary, Bo (Michelle) Gilbert, James Tomas (Katrina) Gilbert, Bucky (Joanie) Gilbert, Shelley (Travis) Martin, Resha (Grey) Janeway, Zach (Jess-Anne) Gilbert.

Great Grandchildren: Justin Leach, Cameron, Cooper and Courtney Muncy, Wednesday Espinoza and Keelyn Gilbert, Jacob, Natalie and Benjamin Gilbert, Desmond, Payton and Neko Gilbert, Joshua Snodgrass, Ivy Biglin, Jenna and Mia Gilbert, Rene and Brady Martin, Hunter Wilson and Kelsie Janeway.

Great-great grandchild: Carolina Leach.

As well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

The family will receive friends Wednesday November 8th from 5 until 7 PM at Coffey Funeral Home in Harrogate with funeral service to follow at 7 PM in the Coffey Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be Thursday November 9th at 11 AM in the Riverview Cemetery.
