Albert C. Looney, 87 of Bossier City. Left his earthly home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 9, 2024. He was born August 23, 1936 in Warren, Arkansas to Cecil and Dovie Looney. His family moved to Fordyce, Arkansas when he was 8 years old.
He was a proud "Fordyce High School Redbug" where he played first chair trombone in the band. Although he lived in Louisiana most of his life, he loved the Arkansas Razorbacks, and was always ready to "Call the Hogs!" He moved to Shreveport when he was 18 and was a dedicated employee for Southern Bell Telephone Company, now AT&T for over thirty years. He met the love of his life while working in the mail room at the telephone company, and they were married for 64 years. He was an active member of Mangum Memorial Methodist Church for many years and loved his church family dearly. He loved to travel, fish, hunt, and attend his grandchildren’s sports activities.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, William Looney; and his sister, Dorothy Parker. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 64 years, Barbara Looney; daughter, Kelly White (Terry); daughter, Shannon Ramsey (Jimmy); grandchildren Lauren Wynn (Billy), Cory White (Kristen), Sarah Meacham (Cameron), and Zach Ramsey; great grandchildren Emery, Ellie, and Lainey White, and Billy Kayde and Magnolia Wynn.
A.C. was a kind-hearted and caring person who will be missed greatly by all who knew him. Many thanks to the staff at Old Brownlee Community Care Center for their compassion and great care especially Ladonna, Kaleigh, Alec, Sharon, and Jane, and to the people at Bristol Hospice, nurse Sharie.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Methodist Church Shreveport, St. Jude, or Shriners Hospital.
