Alice Lorena Barton of Haughton, LA entered into eternal peace on Saturday, December 21, 2019, at the Magnolia Sr. Living Care Center. She was surrounded by her loving family during her final hours.
Alice was born January 19, 1941 in Henderson, TX to Beatrice and Harvey Jolley. She was the eldest of four children. She lived most of her life in Texas until she met and married the love of her life, David H. Barton. In 1971, they then moved to Haughton, Louisiana and there they raised their two sons. They were married for over 45 years.
Alice worked several years as a Cafeteria Manager for Willis Knighton Hospital. She also worked as a Manager for Shell Oil for over 10 years before retiring.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion Koran Post 388 and the Haughton Riding club. There she participated in barrel riding with her horse, “Big Man”. She had a passion for horseback riding, camping, fishing, sewing, and gardening. She was a member of Koran Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sons, Jimmy Barton and his wife Debra of Loganville, GA. David Barton and his wife, Rebecca of Merritt Island, FL; grandchildren, Brad Barton of Monroe, GA, Ashley Daniel of Bethlehem, GA, Justin Barton of Bethlehem, GA and Dallas Barton and Denver Barton of Merritt Island, FL; great grandchildren, Maelyn, Paisley, and Kinley Daniel of Bethlehem, GA, Emersyn, Caroline and Addie from Bethlehem, GA, Gavin Barton, Braiden Barton of Loganville, GA and twins, Maddie Barton and Gracie Barton of Monroe, GA and siblings, Lemuel and wife Cindy Jolley of Arkansas, Jackie and husband Carlton Lamberth of Tyler, TX and Ralph and Karen Jolley of Troup, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Beatrice and Harvey Jolley and her husband, David H. Barton.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at 12:30 p.m. prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Robert Williams, Brian Lamberth, Justin Barton, Brad Barton, Daniel Barton, Austin Jolley, Coby Barton and Shannon Barton.
